MitoCarn™ Weight

MitoCarn™ Weight supports healthy metabolic activity through a sustained increase in fatty acid oxidation and helps the body convert fat to ATP energy in cells. Studies also show that adequate levels of L-Carnitine in the muscles can help minimize fat gain by increasing the metabolism of fat and the amount of energy used during physical activity. MitoCarn™ Weight helps support healthy antioxidant activity, in addition to its mitochondrial functions, which may make it a compound that is beneficial for weight management.*

MitoCarn™ Weight Specifics

MitoCarn™ Weight helps convert fat into energy, which may boost metabolic activity*

Anyone who’s struggled to manage body weight knows the pivotal role metabolism plays in this balancing act. MitoCarn™ Weight helps transport fatty acids into your cells to be burned for energy, promoting active utilizations rather than storage in at cells. This helps shift the body’s use of glycogen for energy (glycolysis) to the body’s fat stores instead.*

MitoCarn™ supports insulin sensitivity*

When you eat, your body secretes insulin, which helps regulate blood glucose levels. When cells become resistant to insulin, they are unable to use it effectively to maintain healthy blood glucose levels. Insulin resistance appears to be related to mitochondrial dysfunction, due, at least in part, to deficient fatty acid oxidation. Oxidative phosphorylation is a complex process in which ATP (energy) is formed. Research found correlations between inefficient oxidative phosphorylation and increased oxidative stress along with triglyceride accumulation in skeletal muscles, which reduces insulin sensitivity. MitoCarn™ Weight supports healthy metabolic functioning and may promote increased insulin sensitivity. Optimizing insulin sensitivity has been shown to be beneficial for promoting weight loss in some users.*

Clinical review of MitoCarn’s role in both fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity

Past research on the weight management benefits of MitoCarn™ Weight has led to positive findings for both increased fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity. Much of the research has explored different mechanisms of action, which show a systemic benefit from adequate L-Carnitine levels in the skeletal muscle. Essentially, when energy burning and insulin sensitivity improve, along with adequate antioxidant activity allowing for rapid clean-up of metabolic activity, the body is able to use existing fat stores for energy while also developing lean muscle mass, resulting in a lower Body Mass Index (BMI). Lower BMI means that the proportion of body weight to body height is improved (although having too low of a BMI may indicate malnourishment). Having a high BMI can be an indicator of being overweight which has been linked to increased health concerns.*

J Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Vol 34, No 3, pp. 295-299, 2010. Summary: Researched the role of L-Carnitine on insulin resistance in humans by showing that L-Carnitine administration, in association with a hypocaloric diet, reduces plasma insulin levels and improves insulin resistance in subjects.
